App: Sight3D — Designing a factory layout application
Context
Born from needs raised on Activ8, Sight3D — then called “Shopfloor” — answers a recurring problem: a badly arranged workshop is expensive in both time and money.
Stakes
Give teams a visualisation tool on iPad to place the digital twin of each machine in the real space, and check that the layout works before any work starts.
My role
Designed as a pair with another designer: user journeys, wireframes, interfaces, and UX iterations discussed between the two of us. I then developed the VR version alongside it, which lets you build your own virtual factories.
Outcome
A platform that was actually built and is fully in use — one of the first projects I saw through from end to end.
