Immersive chair — Turning a proprietary audio technology into an experience
Context
JMD audio had developed a transducer technology that makes sound resonate inside the body. With Émergence bien-être, in Angers, the task was to turn it into an experience: the Canopée chair, a chair of stillness where fifteen minutes of frequencies resonate with the water the body is made of.
Stakes
Move from a technology to a product: work out who it is for, what it makes people feel, how it is told and how it sells — while protecting the invention along the way.
My role
Product management from end to end, in three parts. Understanding: user research protocol and its report, storyboard and user journey for the experience, a client journey for each audience. Positioning: brand board, communication guidelines, business model mapping. Running it: task tracking, team meeting notes, prospect database.
Outcome
An e-Soleau envelope filed with the INPI, dating and protecting the invention. And a user test that did not stop at the questionnaire: people booked a session on their way out.
