Workshop: VR helicopter maintenance — Co-designing VR training
Context
Dauphin-Panther helicopters are expensive to keep grounded during maintenance; the client, new to VR, was looking for a different way to train their teams.
Stakes
Introduce VR to a client who had never used it, understand the work on the ground in depth — trainers and trainees alike — and turn that into a credible training concept that could be costed.
My role
I structured and facilitated the whole workshop: a VR introduction for the client, time on site (helicopter base, avionics bay), co-creating proto-personas, bodystorming to map user journeys from six real scenarios, then framing the art direction and the technical side (3D, languages, network).
Outcome
A complete, costed specification, handed to a reassured client along with a concrete VR training concept.
